Abstract

This study aims to produce a profile of the level of concern of secondary school mathematics teachers towards the Mathematics Curriculum (Standard Secondary School Curriculum, KSSM) based on the level of concern (Levels 0 to 6), position and teaching experience. In addition, a survey of teachers' knowledge and awareness of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (RI 4.0) and Education 4.0 was also carried out. This study uses the Concern-Based Acceptance Model (CBAM) as a theoretical framework to explain secondary school teachers' concerns about the implementation of KSSM Mathematics and their ability to achieve the goals of Education 4.0. Data was collected using the Level of Concern Questionnaire (SoCQ). The study sample consisted of 177 secondary school mathematics teachers throughout Malaysia. Descriptive analysis and one-way ANOVA tests were conducted with the help of SPSS and excel software. The findings of the study show that there is a difference in mean knowledge of RI 4.0 based on position and there is no difference in mean knowledge of RI 4.0 based on teaching experience. The findings regarding the awareness of Education 4.0 show that there is no mean difference based on the teacher's position and experience. Whereas, the general profile of the Level of Unrelated Concern (Level 0-Awareness), Level of Self-Concern (Level 1-Information and Level 2-Personal), Level of Task Concern (Level 3-Management) and Impact Concern (Level 6-Refocus) of the teacher is high. However, the findings show a low level of concern for the Impact Concern Level (Level 4-Impact and Level 5-Cooperation) reflecting the concern of the impact of KSSM implementation on students is not high, and teachers also lack cooperation or share information in implementing KSSM. Accordingly, teachers' enthusiasm and continuous support are necessary so that the implementation of KSSM can be optimized and have a better impact on students.
