THE STATE AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN MALAYSIA

Abstract

This paper studies the roles of state agencies in urban development and housing programs, touching on the development of Kuala Lumpur and the resultant migration of the Malays during the implementation of New Economic Policy (NEP) and the implication of the growth of squatters on urban policy.
