PERSEPSI PELAJAR TERHADAP NASYID SEBAGAI MEDIUM DAKWAH DI SEKOLAH

Abstract

Nasyid is one form of amusement which is enjoyed by various sections of society. However, nasyid today is seen as mere entertainment and does not give much emphasis to its main purpose of preaching. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify students' perceptions of nasyid as a medium of preaching in school. This study also aimed to analyze differences in students' perceptions of nasyid as a medium of preaching in schools based on gender. This study used questionnaires distributed of 333 fouryear-old students from five schools with a background in Islamic nasyid and arts. The data of this study were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferences involving the Free Sample ttest. The study found that students' perception of nasyid as a medium of preaching in school as a whole was high with a mean score of 4.33. The study also found that there is a significant difference in students' perception of nasyid as a medium of preaching in schools based on gender. Therefore, nasyid should be utilized not only as an alternative entertainment but also as one of the mediums of preaching in schools to strengthen religious appreciation among students. The results of this study can provide implications and contribution to the study of the development and implementation of preaching activities in schools using art mediums especially nasyid arts.
