விடுதலைக்குப் பின் தமிழ்க்கல்வி: பரிணாமமும் சவால்களும் (TAMIL SCHOOLS AFTER THE INDEPENDENCE: EVOLUTION AND CHALLENGES)

Abstract

In this country, the survival of Tamil language and Tamilian culture ​​depend heavily on the existence of Tamil schools. It is no exaggeration to mention that the Tamil schools are still doing the same. We must realize that in the future, Tamil schools should perform an extended role, rather than merely being just educational centers; they also have to play crucial role as center for strong Tamils' religious, artistic and cultural developments. It is imperative that these schools evolve accordingly. Otherwise, the identity of a community might be lost. It is not appropriate for us to argue that the situations facing the Tamils ​​living in the countries like Mauritius, Reunion and South Africa will not happen in this country. The article has been examining some pertinent issues we ought to challenge in the near future, in this background.

இந்நாட்டில் தமிழ்மொழியும் தமிழ்ப்பண்பாடும் நிலைப்பதோடு தழைத்தோங்க வேண்டுமெனில் தமிழ்ப்பள்ளிகள் சிறந்து விளங்க வேண்டுவது அவசியமாகும். இப்பொழுதும் தமிழ்ப்பள்ளிகள் பெருமளவில் அதைத்தான் செய்து வருகின்றன என்றால் மிகையாகாது. எதிர்காலத்தில் தமிழ்ப்பள்ளிகள் வெறும் கல்விமையங்களாக மட்டும் விளங்காமல் வலிமைமிக்க தமிழர்களின் சமயம், கலை, பண்பாட்டு மையங்களாகவும் திகழவேண்டிய கட்டாயச் சூழ்நிலை உள்ளதென்பதை நாம் உணர வேண்டும். இதற்கு ஏற்ற வகையில் இப்பள்ளிகள் பரிணமிக்க வேண்டுவது காலத்தின் கட்டாயமாகும். அவ்வாறு இல்லையெனில் ஒரு இனத்தின் முகவரி தொலைந்துவிடும். மொரிசியர்ஸ், ரியூனியன், தென்னாப்பிரிக்கா போன்ற நாடுகளில் வாழும் தமிழர்களைப் போன்ற நிலை இந்நாட்டில் ஏற்படாது என்று இறுமாப்புடன் நாம் இருந்து விடுவது தவறாகும். இவற்றை ஆராய்வதே இக்கட்டுரையின் நோக்கங்களாகும்.
